Privacy policy

Brite Charging Limited, Galway, Ireland. Last updated 10 September 2026.

Who we are

Brite Charging Limited operates EV charging at Galway Retail Park and Sandy Road, Galway. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@brite.ie.

What we collect and why

Charging by contactless card. When you tap a bank card at a charger, our payment terminal provider (Payter) and card acquirer (AIB Merchant Services, via CreditCall/NMI) process the payment. We receive the card brand, the first six and last four digits, the expiry date, the amount, the time and the terminal used. We never receive or store your full card number. We use this to take payment, to issue VAT receipts on request, to investigate a failed or disputed session, and, if you are a member, to identify your sessions for the monthly refund. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in running the service.

Charging sessions. Our charging platform (GreenFlux) records each session: charger, start and end time, energy delivered and cost. We keep these records for billing, receipts, fault investigation and accounting. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation (tax records).

Membership. If you join Brite membership, Stripe collects and holds your name, email address and payment card. We receive and keep your name, email, the card brand, last four digits, expiry and a Stripe card reference, together with the date you joined, your consent to the terms and your consent to card matching. We use these to bill the monthly fee, to match your card taps to your membership, to email your monthly statement and refund, and to answer your queries. Legal basis: contract and your consent to matching, which you can withdraw by cancelling.

Receipt requests and support. When you ask for a receipt or contact support@brite.ie we keep your email address, the details you give us and our reply, so we can answer you and keep a record of what was sent. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.

The Brite app. Payments made through the Charge Assist app are handled by GreenFlux and Stripe under their own terms. We receive the session and payment records described above.

This website. The live availability map and the pricing page do not require an account. The "Ask Brite" assistant sends the question you type to our service so it can answer; do not include personal details in a question. We do not use advertising cookies.

Who we share it with

Stripe (membership billing and app payments), GreenFlux (charging platform), Payter and AIB Merchant Services/CreditCall (card payments), Google (email hosting for support@brite.ie), Render and Netlify (hosting), and our accountants where records are needed for tax. Each acts under its own privacy policy or under contract with us. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Charging and payment records: 6 years, as required for tax. Membership records: while you are a member and for 6 years after for accounting. Receipt requests and support emails: 2 years. Card details are never stored by Brite beyond the brand, last four digits and expiry.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@brite.ie. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Dublin, at dataprotection.ie.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new date.
