Brite Ultra Launches Ireland’s Most Powerful EV Charging Hub in Galway

Galway, Ireland — Brite has officially opened its flagship Brite Ultra charging hub on Sandy Road, Galway City, marking a new era for electric vehicle drivers in the west of Ireland. With 1MWh of installed on-site capacity, the hub supports ten ultra-rapid 300kW DC chargers alongside eight 22kW AC chargers, allowing eighteen vehicles to charge simultaneously without compromise. This scale makes it the most powerful EV charging site in Ireland and a transformative addition to Galway’s transport infrastructure.

Designed for every type of EV, the Brite Ultra site accommodates private cars, vans, buses, and heavy goods vehicles. Its high-clearance bays and large turning circles make it the first public charging hub in Ireland built to serve commercial fleets as well as private motorists. Located just minutes from Galway’s Headford Road and Terryland Retail Park, it is ideally positioned for residents, visitors, and logistics operators alike.

The hub is powered by Siemens’ SiCharge D ultra-rapid chargers, recognised as Europe’s most advanced high-power charging technology. With speeds up to 300kW, dynamic power allocation, and a robust, weatherproof design, these chargers can deliver up to 80% charge in under 15 minutes. Their award-winning ergonomic design, vandal-resistant housing, and intuitive 24-inch touchscreen guarantee ease of use and reliability in all conditions. Supporting them are V2C Pole Pro 22kW AC chargers, combining elegant design with full connectivity, RFID access, dynamic load management, and secure payment integration via the V2C Cloud app.

Together, this combination of hardware offers a seamless experience, strengthened by Brite’s partnership with GreenFlux. Through the GreenFlux Charge Assist app, drivers can check availability in real time, start and stop sessions remotely, pay securely, and plan efficient journeys across Galway and beyond.

“This isn’t just another charging point; it’s a game-changer for Galway and for Ireland,” said Colin Barry, CEO of Brite Charging. “By combining scale, reliability, and accessibility, we’re making it easier for private motorists, businesses, and public transport operators to transition to electric vehicles. Galway now has the charging infrastructure to match its ambition for a cleaner, more sustainable future.”

The Brite Ultra hub also plays a strategic role in advancing Ireland’s 2030 Climate Action Plan, providing the infrastructure needed to decarbonise not just private transport but also commercial logistics and tourism fleets. Its 1MWh power capacity ensures that even during peak times, drivers can depend on uninterrupted high-speed charging.

For EV drivers searching for fast charging stations in Galway or for those travelling through the west of Ireland, Brite Ultra now sets the standard. With unmatched scale and quality, it positions Galway as a leader in Ireland’s clean energy transition and ensures that the region is future-ready for the growth of electric mobility.
