  • CHARGE ASSIST APP

If you want a very quick and easy experience, download the Charge Assist app, find Brite Charging Station in the map, add your payment method eg Apple Pay, plug your car in, press start on your charger number and that’s it.

  • No need to tap out if the session has ended from full battery

When your charge sessions ends as a result of the battery getting to 100%, there is no need to tap your card. The system cannot deliver any more power, therefore the system automatically ends the session. Dont forget you have 10 mins to release the charger before the parking fee starts.

  • €50 Pre authorised payments

The €50 pre-authorised amount shown on your card or bank statement, please note the following:

The €50 shown is not a charge or fee — it’s a temporary hold placed by your bank to allow the charging session to proceed (just like a hotel or fuel-pump hold).

Once your session ends, the correct amount for the electricity used is charged, and the €50 hold is automatically released the same day by our system.

The speed of refund depends entirely on your bank or card issuer. Some banks release it immediately, while others can take several working days.

Brite cannot manually release or speed up this refund, so please contact your bank directly if the hold remains visible after several days.

  • Where do I Tap my card to start

Brite sites use chargers and dispensers. The dispenser is controlled from the main charger. Tap your card on the contactless unit on the main charger unit.

  • Overstay fees now put back by 25 mins to 75 mins for DC

After 75 mins, if your car is still plugged in you will be charged €0.60 per min at peak and €0.40 per min off peak.

  • Speed of charge

The Galway Retail Park site shares 199kw.

The Sandy road site has a capacity of 1mva.

The speed of download you achieve has a significant amount of variables as to why one session is faster than another. The main reason is your car telling the charger how fast to draw the electricity down. Your car will need to have 800v architecture and a max capacity over 200kwh to get the max out of brite chargers. Most cars dont. If you are getting around 60kwh - 90kwh you are doing fine. We cant help you increase your power drawdown unfortunately. The only definite improver for speed is charging the car from approximately 5% battery capacity on your car.

  • My card wont tap / charge wont start

This has got to do with the plugs timing out. Please take the charger out of the car, wait 5 seconds and plug back in. Tap the reader, check the main screen, it will go from “connected” to “initializing” to “charging”. Please try a second card if one card does not work. Some bank cards such as business credit cards may not work immediately.

  • Time Out - Session Non start

If you connect your car to the charger and spend an extended amount of time downloading the app or figuring things out, by the time you start the charge the charger may have timed out. Its always best to get everything ready, plug in the car and immediately start the charge session. If all else fails, plug out the charger from the car, lock and unlock the car, plug it back in and start again.

  • No app - no worries - Tap and Pre Auth

1. Plug the charging cable in to car

    2. Tap your pay card on the card reader located on the pay terminal pole

3.The system will take a Pre Authorisation hold of €50 from your card. The amount is displayed o the screen of the payment terminal.

    4. The charge will automatically START

    5. Check the car is charging on screen

    6. STOP CHARGING by tapping your card on the card reader once more
